At Right at Home Solent we are proud to offer all of our CareGivers on-going professional development and regular support in progressing their career. We asked Chrissie, from our team, what she thinks about the progression opportunities at Right at Home Solent, as since starting with us over four years ago, she has been in a number of roles. This is what she said:

"When I started as a new CareGiver in June 2020 with Right At Home Solent, initially I found it quite daunting to be perfectly honest, as I learned during the three-day Induction Training, that the notes for care visits needed to be completed digitally, using Mobizio App; this was all completely new to me, although I was not new to working in the care industry, I had only ever recorded written notes! 

After starting at Right at Home Solent, I received some lovely support and re-assurances from the office team and you should see me now, I am fearless completing my visit notes! As my time has moved along with Right At Home Solent, I was then given the wonderful opportunity to progress with my passion for people in relation to End Of Life Care Role. To be able to support a person, and their family, during this stage of life is special to me, as after supporting my own father and others, I wanted to look more into community care provision for our clients who need specialised, End Of Life Care. Right At Home Solent supported me completely, they arranged additional End Of Life care training courses which made it possible to provide quality care. I have worked alongside some more than marvellous people in my time at Right at Home Solent (in my opinion!). All of our Caregivers provide an excellently-high standard of care for our clients and their families, and I'd like to give a special thanks to the amazing support I have received from everyone at Right At Home Solent.

End of Life Care provision may not be for everyone however in my experience I can say that I have been provided the best opportunity to provide the best care. I have just celebrated 4 years (in June) of working for Right At Home Solent and very recently accepted the opportunity to take a new role within the team and work part-time in the office completing the Auditing (which is a very important role!) Who would ever believed that after my ‘daunting’ start initially being so afraid of technology I can now type with four fingers and I am genuinely loving the office audit work!
